ECONOMYNEXT – A parliamentary committee on education reforms has called for all members of Parliament to submit ideas and proposals.
After the Sub-Committee on Education Reforms discusses the report being prepared by the ministry, the general public will be given an opportunity to submit their views and suggestions, a Parliament statement said.
Prime minister/Education minister Harini Amarasuriya told the committee a public awareness campaign has been planned to provide the public with a clear understanding of the reforms.
Education officials in 8 provinces have been briefed, except in the Uva Province.
During the sub-committee meeting, discussions were also held on teacher training programs aligned with the new curriculum, teacher deployment plans for schools, and the approach to school infrastructure development. (Colombo/Aug7/2025)
